ABOUT

I’m a coach, psychotherapist, and facilitator, with a background in professional sport. I design and deliver learning and development experiences for leaders and athletes.
Who am I?
My name is Paul McKenzie, and I’m the Founder of Thirdways. I’m a thinker, coach, and designer. I’m a former professional athlete with a deep interest in humans and how we think, our behaviour, and our potential. I work with individuals, teams, and small and large groups, designing and delivering learning experiences that raise awareness, provide challenge, and derive commitment.
What is Thirdways?
In work, sport, and life, we can get locked into habitual patterns of thinking and doing. A ‘right’ way of doing things emerges. While this may have a positive impact initially, it has a shelf-life. Becoming reliant or wedded to this eventually closes down options and stifles creativity. Outside the ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way lies everything else. A ‘third’ way exists beyond the binary, that is all the other options and ideas and approaches that haven’t been considered.
Thirdways exists to uncover other options in service of potential.
